I received this as a sample and didn't try it out for a long time. I felt like the color was too dark, and just too much. I felt like I was too old to being wearing such dramatic, dark colors. But my daughter made me try it out and wear one day, and I got so many compliments. She told me that I just wasn't used to seeing myself with very dark lips but that it looked great. I started wearing the sample on and off for work, and again, received a ton of compliments. If you are shying away from trying a dark, matte lipstick, give it a try. This lasts for hours, almost all day, without a touch up. I went ahead and purchased the full size as I've used up all the sample, and now I wear it all the time.

I started using this lipstick in shade M401 years ago and it is my favorite lipstick in every way. This shade is so flattering and I always get complimented on it. It last longer than any lipstick I have ever tried (believe me when I say I’ve tried a lot). One application in the morning and it hardly moves by the end of the day. It is so opaque yet insanely comfortable on the lips and is not drying whatsoever. The bullet is designed so perfectly and allows me to easily apply the product without having to go back and clean up the edges. The packaging is all metal and very heavy duty while still looking sleek. I could go on and on really but the bottom line is I have to hurry up and make mass purchases of this product as it is leaving from Makeup Forever and I’m not sure I can live without it.

I received a sample of M101, Carmel Beige, some time ago and just "found" it after forgetting I'd received it. I saw the word "rouge" and read no farther. I thought it was for my cheeks! Well, I applied it to my cheeks and loved it! It blended easily with my fingers and looked very natural. Coincidentally, I'd been looking for a creme rouge (blush). I suppose it's okay to use on my cheeks? I came to the website to order some and discovered it is lipstick! So I applied it to my lips, but it has a very odd, unpleasant taste--like the way perfume tastes if it gets in your mouth. For this reason alone I wouldn't want to wear it as a lipstick, and is why I rated it 4 stars. I might put up with the taste for myself if it was a fabulous lipstick, but how can I ask my guy to kiss me? As a creme rouge for my cheeks, I'd rate it 5 stars. LOL.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great matte lipstick! The Artist Rouge M101 in Caramel Beige is the best matte neutral lipstick ever. So sorry that MUFE had to discontinue it. Please bring back the traditional matte lipstick that twist in a tube instead of the liquid matte that swipe on/off with a wand. I want to see more traditional matte lipsticks offered in this line. Hope there will a matte option coming soon.

This has been my go to favorite red lipstick for years! I can’t believe you changed it. I wore the red 405 forever. Every Day. We want less packaging not more, so a bigger kid is silly. Also more plastic. Please tell me it’s corn. The color is wrong. The perfumy smell is terrible. What have you done? So sad and disappointed.

This lipstick is my go to & I am lost without it. Cream formulation that is hydrating to the lip, applies smooth & lasts. I rock straight white lipstick & finding a white lipstick in general is rough but I have not found another even close to this standard. Please bring it back, it is missed!!

If I knew this was going to be discontinued I would have purchased more! Best lipstick ever! The color was perfect for me! If Makeup Forever is going to discontinue a line in their products at least they should come up with a like color! Very disappointed this is gone!

I have been using this lipstick for years because it stays on all day for me. Even eating and drinking. I tried a few others when my color was out of stock, but none can come close! THANK YOU for a great product! My only complaint... it’s out of stock!! =p
