Not matte!
I had purchased Nude Look 100 in the velvet finish and was so pleased with it that I ordered the matte finish in that shade as well. Unfortunately the matte turned out not to be matte at all; it was greasy, patchy, and slippery to apply, transferred all over my teeth, and never dried down. It sank into the lip lines, leaving a very uneven finish - and is also a completely different colour from the Nude Look velvet. Sadly would not recommend. This shade and finish is not as described. I repackaged and returned the item to Dior for a full refund, given the price of the product, but have yet to receive any communication - or refund - from them.

A beautiful lipstick - pigmented and lasting.
I purchased 3 different colours all with a 'velvet' finish. They are brilliant. They have the staying power of a good matte lipstick, but glide on smooth and creamy. One coat lasts me all through my work day, including eating my lunch. Very little transfer. I thought I would try velvet since matte lipsticks do dry my lips (unless I use a lip primer). My lips are fine all day, no primer required; I did try using a primer one day just to see and it made the lipstick feel a little more creamy and still lasted all day, maybe stayed on a little stronger. I will definitely keep these in stock. Wouldn't mind some more fun colours become available.

The Perfect Red
Super comfortable matte red. I actually have 999 but I didn't see that in the variety options. I actually love wearing this as a blotted lip, sheers down really nice for a softer look when you don't want a full on red lip! Photo is of it blotted. It's got a soft fragrance, but it disappates quickly. These are pretty longwear but not transfer proof. Overall a really beautiful lipstick that is worth the price point. A side note though, 999 is Dior's signature red so they carry it in multiple formulas, but it is not always the same red! This one leans pretty true, but I checked the other finishes and their undertones were all over the board.

200 Nude Touch Velvet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this lipstick for free from Influenster and Dior. I got the shade 200 Nude Touch Velvet, which was a perfect shade for me. I always had hard time finding the right nude shade for myself and this was the exact right shade for me. (Light to medium skin tone with dark hair and brows). It compliments every kind of makeup, be it smokey, glam or soft everyday makeup look. This lipstick applies so smooth and feels very lightweight yet hydrating. It has velvety matte finish and doesn’t dry out lips. It is refillable which I haven’t seen with any other lipstick. It claims to be long lasting but I don’t think it is. I personally loved it. #voxbox

Love It/Hate It Lipstick
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to love this lipstick so much, but then I hate it. I typically do not wear nude lipstick because either it's too nude for my skin tone or not enough "umph". I am in LOVE with the color I received! It is a hint nude with pigments of deep beige, which makes you look twice to see if it's really nude or a subtle color. One swipe and you have a light, even color; you can add as many layers as you need to make it as dark/heavy as you like. The light pomegranate smell is delicious! The downside is how dry it goes on - wish there was a hint of moisture added. Color does not last long at all, which is a little disappointing for the brand.

True matte look.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try Rouge by Dior. It’s a true matte lipstick. Glides on smooth on the lips. I notice that if you have rough lips, the color seems to show darker on those dry patchy areas. It’s best to exfoliate lips before using a matte lipstick. I was disappointed that the inner tube came apart from the base. I guess I received a faulty one. Makes it difficult to pull open because only the bottom comes off and I have to pry out the lipstick tube. I was hoping the quality of the mechanics of the lipstick was more in line to the quality I experienced in the past with Dior products. Hopefully everyone is having better luck.

Wow
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a Dior makeup junkie but have yet to try their Rouge Lipsticks. This formula is weightless. The moment it was applied to my lips, it instantly melted into my skin and I could no longer feel the product. Coolest feeling ever. The formula is somewhere transfer-proof once it’s dried down. While wearing it, my lips felt hydrated yet matte; an odd sensation but something I could get use to. I am thinking about purchasing another color because I love the formula so much! The color I was sent is a bit dark for my fair skin tone and is a shade I don’t usually wear. Other than that, I think this is the best matte lipstick I’ve ever worn. Highly recommend!
